First of all, the growth on your AVC fund is not subject to any income tax or capital gains tax and is allowed to grow completely tax-free.

Secondly, we generally recommend a conservative approach towards saving for your retirement.

The Individual Retirement Investment Service (IRIS)
ensures that at all stages your contributions are invested in a fund which meets your individual requirements. By simply choosing a year of retirement, IRIS will then look after the asset mix to ensure that your pension fund is invested in assetsthat match your  needs, as you go through life. .With IRIS there is a gradual switch from equities to Government Securities and Cash in the run up to retirement with the objective of protecting the purchasing power of your AVC.

The IRIS approach works
Since its launch almost 15 years ago, IRIS has proved to be an outstanding success with almost €2 billion currently under management in its range of funds. Choosing IRIS ensures that at whatever point in your life you are and however close you are to retirement, you are investing in the most suitable investment fund strategy for you.

If however you would like to choose an alternative investment fund we have a wide variety of funds to choose from ranging from high to low risk.
